Resveratrol is a phytoalexin that is produced naturally by plants. It is called so because of its antibiotic property to fight bacteria and fungus. The various plants and fruits that contain resveratrol include skin of grapes, red wine, raspberries, cranberries, pine trees, peanuts and Japanese knotweed.

Recent studies have indicated that purple grape juice has the same health benefit as red wine. Other foods that are rich in resveratrol include peanuts and blueberries.
