Resveratrol is a phytoalexin that is produced naturally by plants. It is called so because of its antibiotic property to fight bacteria and fungus. The various plants and fruits that contain resveratrol include skin of grapes, red wine, raspberries, cranberries, pine trees, peanuts and Japanese knotweed.

Red wine is a very high source of resveratrol as resveratrol in red wine comes from skin of red grapes that is used to make wine. Red wine has higher content of Resveratrol as compared to white wine as it is fermented. The easy way to get resveratrol is by eating grapes or drink grape juice without consumption of alcohol. Recent studies have indicated that purple grape juice has the same health benefit as red wine. Other foods that are rich in resveratrol include peanuts and blueberries.
